Leslie informs me that she needs a new suitcase. Apparently the overnight to Sens was a bridge too far for "red" (my name for her suitcase). Since "red" is about to be retired, it seems like we should have some acknowledgement of the service that "red" provided. Numerous trips back to L.A. and New York, Asia, several trips to Africa, and across western and eastern Europe. I am sure I'm forgetting some locations but the point is that as far as luggage goes, it was a workhorse. My bag, "blue" is a littler younger than "red" so it still has some miles to go. We are both healthy again and surviving the gloom of another winter as we await the one day transition from winter to summer that seems to be the way things go here. I shouldn't complain because we did have a few gorgeous weeks in February when the temps were in the low 60's and the sun was out, for the most part. But if things go as normal we will have overcast and rain with mild temps until one glorious June day when all of the sudden flip flops and shorts are in order and sweaters can get packed away. That is the day we stumble outside onto our now sunny street and shed our coats, scarves, sweaters and gloves. We will be rubbing our eyes because we aren't used to the sun and thus we will have begun the process of becoming human again! |
