Leslie Lewis et Gérard Hagen "Bonjour de Paris" 1 November 2015

Bonjour de Paris ...

Chers Amis,

We have received many, many inquiries about tickets for our December 6th concert in San Juan Capistrano. The concert is in the beautiful home of our very good friend Ron Dye, It is an exceptional setting for a concert. We will start at 7:00pm on Sunday evening. Wine and beer will be provided. Please be aware that dinner is NOT being served. We are really excited to announce that Leslie and I will be accompanied by Domenic Genova and Jerry Kalaf, who were my California trio mates for seventeen years. Here is the information in order to get tickets for the event. Tickets are $26 and are only available by purchasing them in advance using my Paypal account. Please contact me at gerard@surfcovejazz.com to tell me the number of tickets you would like. I will email you an invoice and you can choose your preferred method of payment through Paypal. Once I receive a confirmation of your payment I will email the details you will need to attend the concert. It has been over two years since we last performed in California and we have a lot of new material which we are excited to perform there. We are very excited to see you all so please don’t wait too long to purchase tickets as we expect this concert will sell-out.

It is now well into fall weather here in Paris. It is time to dig out our warmer clothes and try to prepare for another winter. Fortunately this city is really magical during the holidays and it is easy to get in the Christmas spirit when surrounded by all of the beautiful decorations. So we can look forward to the holidays before we get to the long, gray slog that is January through April.

For those of you who live in Paris we are working the last week of the year (Dec. 29th-Jan. 2nd), including New Years Eve at Chez Papa Jazz Club in Saint Germain des Près. Peter Giron will be playing bass and as it turns out, Jerry Kalaf will be here and will join us on drums! (The club will be dark on Jan. 1st.)

A few weeks ago Leslie took me to Amsterdam for a short birthday get-a-way.  It was our first time there. We had a spectacular visit and found it to be a very charming city. We happened to find several very happening restaurants and spent the rest of our time exploring the different neighborhoods around our hotel. Somehow we managed to miss the more adventurous areas in the city that may have been more appealing if I were thirty years younger!

Please don’t forget about our February 28th date in London at SoHo Jazz Club /Pizza Express on Dean St. in Soho.  Word of mouth is a very valuable promotional tool for us so… we would very much appreciate it if you could pass along this information if you know any jazz fans in London.

Until next time,

Leslie and Gerard
